| City of Crest Hill | Well #9 & Water Treatment Facility
The demand for development of the northern Crest Hill area required extension of the water supply system to include additional well supply and a 1.5 million gallon elevated storage tank. Well #9’s raw water iron concentration was found to be at the upper limit of the level when stabilization by sequestering agents is effective. Therefore, treatment by aeration, chlorination and filtration is provided.
This well, currently producing approximately 30% of the system demand, is equipped with an automatic emergency stand-by electrical generator.
This 425 gpm well, iron-removal facilities and 1,500,000 gallon elevated storage tank have been photographed and exhibited internationally by a Belgian artist. Both our firm and the City of Crest Hill are proud of this recognition.
Construction Cost:
Well and Pump: $70,419.00
Water Treatment: $484,328.00
Water Storage Tank: $1,550,819.00
