| City of Crest Hill | Well #8 Treatment Facilities
Well #8 was drilled in 1996 on a small site shared with an elevated water storage tank. The well house was constructed to match the architecture and colors of the neighboring homes. The water quality was marginally high in iron content which was controlled with limited success by sequestering agents. As part of the water system upgrade, the City elected to add iron removal facilities to this well. The aeration and filtration iron removal equipment is housed in an annex to the original well house, matching in architecture and color scheme. Well operation has been maintained during construction of the new addition.
The existing well house (right 2/3 of the photo) was constructed to match homes in the neighborhood.
Completion Date: 2004
Construction Cost: $ 294,312.00
